Sai Akileshwar's Farewell Concert 4 Aug 2012

Our dear friend, Akilesh will be pursuing his further studies in Chennai soon. He has been an instrumental member of the Alumni and while we are sad to see him go, we share in his excitement and encourage him to develop his musical interests further.

For those of you who do not know Akilesh personally, you may recall his interview (see from learning to teaching and back). We look forward to seeing you at his farewell concert this coming Saturday.

warmest regards,
SIFAS ALUMNI Committee 2011

  1. It came to me has no surprise that a mridangist of character and humbleness have this opportunity to pursue his intrest in music further. Knowing Akilesh for some years now, I am definite to say that I am proud to have known him, practiced with him and performed with him. I also am very sure that in time to come I will be equally privileged to tell people in the music world that I have walked with artist such as Akilesh. It has been always a bold move for anyone to go all the way to taste the achievemnt of one's passion. It can be a difficult path to take but a fulfilling one. For the alumni he has been a pillar of support and strength. And it is tough to see him off for 2 years. But neverthless our gift to him when he is back, is a better Alumni than the one he has helped in developing, which, as come a long way since being formed. All the best to my fellow mridangist, brother, friend and most of all a humble artist. Wishing you the divine bliss of music always.

  2. For those of you on our SIFAS Alumni page on Facebook, I am sure you can tell how fond we are of this little brother we have all worked with during our time at SIFAS. His talent has always remained one of the most remarkable things each music lover remembers about him. When it comes to music, all jokes are aside and his focus is acute. I myself, have incurred his "wrath" when my thaalam tends to malfunction. We will definitely miss him terribly but we are also looking forward to him becoming the legend we believe he has the capacity to become. In Singaporean fashion.. "jia You!".We are very proud and congrats in advance.
